Pool Styles

Versatile Selection
You will find the variety of pools comes from how the basin is constructed. Blue Diamond Pools and Landscaping will help you select from several pool styles to find the one best for you, and each has its own advantages and disadvantages.

Gunite Pools
The most popular design in much of North America, gunite pools are built with a mixture of cement and sand – the gunite. We spray the gunite around a steel-reinforced grid. Our crew trowels the gunite smooth and lets it sit for a week or so before applying a smooth finish. We also can use shotcrete which is a wet or dry mix that is ran thru a hose and shot at high speeds onto a surface. You can finish your pool with special coloured concrete pool paint, glass or slate tile, exposed quartz marbelite, or natural stone products.

Fiberglass Pools
We install Blue Hawaiian Fiberglass Pools , which are fiberglass-reinforced plastic molded into a basin shape. To install the pool, our construction crew digs an accurately measured hole, lays the necessary plumbing, adds some sand filler and lowers the preformed pool structure into the hole. We then level the pool, hook up all the plumbing and backfill the area around the pool. Also have our crew surround your new pool with a concrete deck and landscaping.

Poured Concrete
These pools are similar to gunite pools, but concrete-formed pools are harder to build. Instead of spraying concrete material around a rebar framework, concrete is actually poured into conventional wooden forms. These pools are typically found in larger complex projects as in Hotels where the pool is not on the main floor but elevated floors and typically the foundation crew has the pool shell done with the hotel foundation then a pool company is hired to turn the concrete shell into a functioning pool.

Vinyl Lined
Vinyl lined pools are one of the most popular in-ground pools today. They are built using a galvanized steel frame to which the size and shape are approved at the home owners' request. Vinyl lined pools have a two stage concrete floor that gets hand troweled on the underside of the liner, then backfilled with a granular fill. Landscaping for these pools are endless. These are usually more affordable but customization is limited.
